Overview

A Business Systems Analyst is tasked to design, develop, test, implement and support the technical solutions within the Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ERP system as well as other business applications for the functional areas of manufacturing, logistics, distribution, sales/finance and marketing.  This position will be part of the team working with business owners to formulate innovative business solutions in support of current and future business and Company objectives, along with providing day-to-day support.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Primary responsibilities to include: Reviewing, analyzing, designing, developing, modifying, testing, debugging and installing programs within the ERP software and other bolt-on applications to support the organization’s application system and integration requirements while meeting the user’s request for all modules.
  2. Design new modules to improve system efficiency, resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication and other distributed data issues.
  3. Performs developer unit testing and executes a comprehensive system test prior to user testing.
  4. Assist in day-to-day operational support of the system, including maintenance tasks and user support.
  5. Work collaboratively with the project team and end users to develop, test and implement solutions in support of the end user community.
  6. Adhere to all Ply Gem standards of documentation and record keeping. Adhere to all standards of systems and applications coding as recommended by the vendor (example: Oracle’s standards for the ERP system)
  7. Create action plans for performance improvement and maximum transaction throughput. Utilize all resources available (recording applications, utilization of scheduler, distributed processing, etc.).
  8. Prepare and submit periodic written reports for projects in process and also provide status reports on issue(s) resolutions and root cause corrections.
  9. Provide technical leadership and guidance in the assessment of existing processes and their continuous improvement.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

 

Education/Working Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business or related field of study highly desired.
  • C/C++
  • SQL 2005 and above
  • Insight
  • Business Intelligence Tools
  • Java and Web Development Tools
  • BI Publisher, Oracle Fusion Middleware, Web Center & E1 Pages

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience developing within Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0 or later. Certification is preferred.
  • Experience working on an Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0 or 9.1 conversion/upgrade project in a minimal customized environment.
  • Experience providing support in an Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0 or later environment that is customized (not just out of the box).
  • Minimum of three to five years programming with the EnterpriseOne development toolset, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in information automation integration into Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne a plus.

Skills/Abilities

  • Strong analytical, project management and interpersonal/communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in modeling and documenting business processes (ie. As-Is, To-Be).
  • Expert understanding of the EnterpriseOne toolset within the Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ERP system.
  • Expert understanding of the database structure within the Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ERP system and relational databases.
  • Expertise in Oracle JD Edwards Enterprise 9.0 or later development and object oriented programming. Experience in the following object types: Application, UBE, TC, BSFN, NER and Interface design. 
  • Business Intelligence skills working a data warehouse or as a data architect a plus.
  • Ability to lead team discussions, solicit input and facilitate decisions in a professional manner.
  • Ability to multi-task and organize effectively to meet users’ expectations while working as part of a larger team.
  • Great organization and time management skills with the desire to complete projects on time.
  • Possess the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
