Overview

The ERP Application Architect will coordinate ERP development and integration for Ply Gem Siding and Corporate office.  This position will lead internal and external teams to develop ERP strategies, understand requirements, architecting, designing and developing ERP integrations, solutions and deployments. The successful candidate will focus on ERP initiatives for the Oracle JDE environment and will play a key role on teams to support Ply Gem wide ERP strategy and support. This position should be based out of the Kansas City office.

Responsibilities

  • Primary Duties: Responsible for coordinating teams in reviewing, analyzing, designing, developing, modifying, testing, debugging and installing programs within the Oracle JDE ERP software and other bolt-on applications to support the organization’s application system and integration requirements while meeting the business unit’s needs..
  • Architect and design new modules to improve system efficiency, resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication and other distributed data issues.
  • Responsible for compliance with the predefined development cycle, unit testing and for proper execution of a comprehensive system test prior to user testing.
  • Work with all functional business unit areas to architect and deploy business solutions that support full utilization of the Oracle JDE ERP and third party integrated systems based on multiple technology platforms.
  • Ensure that all Ply Gem standards of documentation and record keeping are complied with. Adhere to vendor guidelines for systems and applications coding. (example: Oracle’s standards for the ERP system)
  • Architect ways to improve systems utilization and performance.
  • Responsible for and ensure that all proper project management and reporting discipline is adhered to and maintained.  
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to Ply Gem wide ERP solutions teams.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Working Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree or in Computer Science, Business or related field of study highly desired.
  • C/C++
  • SQL 2005 and above
  • Insight
  • Business Intelligence Tools
  • Java and Web Development Tools
  • BI Publisher, Oracle Fusion Middleware, Web Center & E1 Pages

 

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience developing within Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0 or later. Certification is preferred.
  • Experience working on an Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0 or 9.1 conversion/upgrade project in a minimal customized environment.
  • Experience providing support in an Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0 or later environment that is customized (not just out of the box).
  • Minimum of three to five years programming with the EnterpriseOne development toolset, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in information automation integration into Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne a plus.

Skills/Abilities

  • Strong analytical, project management and interpersonal/communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in modeling and documenting business processes (ie. As-Is, To-Be).
  • Expert understanding of the EnterpriseOne toolset within the Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ERP system.
  • Expert understanding of the database structure within the Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ERP system and relational databases.
  • Expertise in Oracle JD Edwards Enterprise 9.1 or later development and object oriented programming. Experience in the following object types: Application, UBE, TC, BSFN, NER and Interface design. 
  • Business Intelligence skills working a data warehouse or as a data architect a plus.
  • Ability to lead team discussions, solicit input and facilitate decisions in a professional manner.
  • Ability to multi-task and organize effectively to meet users’ expectations while working as part of a larger team.
  • Great organization and time management skills with the desire to complete projects on time.
  • Possess the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

 

Other

  • Moderate travel required (20% - 30%).
