Overview

Position requires a high degree of technical knowledge regarding building construction codes and specifications needed to supply the customer with a complete and reliable bid for their construction projects.

 

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Download plans and specifications and have them printed to prepare for take offs.
  • Prepare the take off according to the specifications and codes on the plans.
  • Work directly with customers to clarify discrepancies and make changes as needed.
  • Submit the take off to the estimator for pricing.
  • Review all bids for accuracy before sending to the customer.
  • When needed meet with the customer at jobsites.
  • Keep a detailed log of all plans when they are received and the bid has been completed.
  • Work with management to expedite projects and assist customers.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school degree required.  Supplemental college coursework or vocational/technical training preferred. 
  • Knowledge of construction codes required.

               

 

Experience

  • One to three years of experience calculating window bids.

 

Skills/Abilities

  • Effective analytical and communication skills. 
  • Ability to play a true team member role with other key leadership members.

                               

Other

  • Some travel to and from customer sites required.
