  • Overview

    This position leads process and equipment improvements for the entire facility as well as providing facility improvements.


    • Maintain and improve processes, plant equipment, and facilities so that productivity can be safely maximized.
    • Effective use of engineering personnel in servicing company needs in the area of design and process engineering, capital expenditures, and building and grounds.
    • Ensure that Ply Gem is in compliance with health and safety standards, and governmental rules and regulations.
    • Improve operating systems processes and efficiencies.
    • Manage and coordinate technical equipment upgrades.
    • Coordinate multiple projects and complete timely implementation.
    • Provide and install new equipment; maintain and improve existing equipment.
    • Provide adequate descriptions, justification and detail for equipment and material.
    • Ensure that we maintain a safe and healthy work environment. Seek associate input.
    • Ensure and assist with the selection of new equipment that meets OSHA and Ply Gem’s standards.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.




    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Business or related degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.



    Five to eight years working in the engineering/maintenance function; three of which should have been in a supervisory/leadership role.



    Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project) and AutoCAD. Good process and project management skills.
