  • Overview

    As the Programmer Analyst 2, you’ll have the opportunity to develop applications that are critical to the success of Simonton’s business processes.  As part of a team, you will improve the application architecture in ways that increase the flexibility of Simonton’s systems and allow the business to achieve results more quickly.  You’ll also act as a mentor to less experienced programmers.


    • Participate in the development and maintenance of the software applications that comprise Simonton’s software systems
    • Champion software development best practices while also being pragmatic about their implementation
    • Lead the continuous improvement of the software systems
    • Create/update system documentation to support users and other developers
    • Provide user support to the users of the software systems
    • Adhere to Software Change Management policies, standards and practices applied to the development and operation of the software systems
    • Provide technical expertise and facilitate dialogue with other team members and other Departments
    • Give input as needed to issues like tool and environment selection
    • May perform other duties as assigned

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or any related analytical field
    • At least 5 years of professional experience in the application development field
    • Expert knowledge of a modern programming language such as Java or Microsoft.NET technologies (C#, VB.Net, ASP.NET) is required
    • Expert knowledge of database design with platforms such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL preferred
    • HTTP/JSON web service and API development
