  • Overview

    Provide support to the Fabrication Division by processing work orders and preparing manufacturing instructions for the production lines. 

    Responsibilities

    1. Prepare manufacturing work orders from written description of windows by identifying configuration, sub-assemblies required and cut sizes for parts.
    2. Process sales orders in PICK system to prepare manufacturing work order paperwork.
    3. Distribute work order paperwork to manufacturing areas on a daily basis.
    4. Order custom-size tempered glass and screens daily.
    5. Assist with scheduling and reporting production workload for the Fabrication Division.
    6. Make changes to orders in process.
    7. Generate production files for computer controlled shop floor machinery.
    8. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education

    High school diploma or equivalent required.

     

    Experience

    2 - 3 years experience in a fast paced, custom products, manufacturing environment; production scheduling experience preferred.

     

    Skills/Abilities

    This position requires a customer service oriented individual with excellent interpersonal skills.  Work situation requires organization, prioritization and interpretation of information relating to a variety of guidelines and procedures.  Contact with customers requires the ability to establish rapport and maintain professional relationships.  Ability to comprehend overall manufacturing process, understand product configurations, interpret information from both internal and external customers. Ability to visualize spatial relationships when reading written descriptions.  Knowledge of and proficient in the use of personal computers and various software programs, MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and general office equipment.  Ability to effectively perform job duties under a high level of activity and a variety of conditions; dealing effectively with difficult people and difficult situations.  Willingness to accept responsibility and offer solutions and options to meet customers needs.
