  • Overview

    Supports logistics team on key operations activities including analysis of inbound and outbound logistics, distribution expenses, financial planning and strategic logistics decisions, and monthly project reporting. In addition, this position supports strategic supply chain decisions for product production by providing product costing estimates and financial analysis. This position will assist in the development and management of reporting processes centered around logistic driven projects and initiatives.

    Responsibilities

    1. Performs financial forecasting, and assists with development of annual strategic and periodic financial plans.
    2. Bridge budgeted and actual costs with explanation of variances to department and business unit leadership.
    3. Closes the General Ledger ensuring financial information is recorded accurately, timely, and in accordance with GAAP.
    4. Creates and analyzes standard monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for effective and timely communication of financial results to business leaders of all manufacturing plants
    5. Develops ad hoc integrated revenue/expense analyses, projections, reports, and presentations in response to business unit requests.
    6. Participates in the standard cost setting and budget process for inbound logistics
    7. Promotes a strong internal control environment in logistics activities.
    8. Manages communication of business performance through the development and management of Financial Logistics Dashboards
    9. Performs a weekly, monthly, and quarterly analysis of logistics costs reconciling variances
    10. Develop business strategies with Logistics leadership to control costs and drive Continuous Improvement and Synergy savings for Inbound and Outbound logistics
    11. Develop and manage monthly reporting on Logistics Synergy and Continuous Improvement projects
    12. Perform monthly vendor invoice auditing to contracted values.
    13. Monthly vendor discount compliance reporting.
    14. Contract analysis and management to support Logistics department and business unit leadership.
    15. Act as a financial advisor to the Logistics/Operations business team and Operations Finance team.
    16. Provide timely analysis of financial performance with appropriate bridges showing key drivers for deviations from target. 
    17. Proactive to maximize business opportunities and mitigate issues.
    18. Serve as liaison and point of contact for external customers providing timely communication and issue resolution of all financial matters.
    19. Perform analysis of material supplier by inbound receiving plant, logistics as a percent of material cost by supplier, and other adhoc analysis.
    20. Support plant leadership in research of logistics cost variances and reporting.
    21. Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education

    Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience

     

    Experience

    Preferred two years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment

    Extensive use of excel and data manipulation desired

    Ability to view and understand logistics process (carrier through billing and recording processes) 
    Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills of workflow and multi-user contract library
    Light travel up to 20%
