  • Overview

    The person charged with providing the day-to-day maintenance of equipment and processes and to support production objectives. General work direction is provided by the facility Plant Manager, but the Systems Engineer is accountable and responsible for assuring that all assigned tasks particularly in NPD, CI Support, and Glass Yield are completed to the best of their ability.



    Specific Responsibilities: 

    This position is responsible for developing, leading and executing in the following areas:

    • Primary in plant resource for applications such as WRRS, WSOE, WBOX, PMC Support…. Ensure proper implementation of changes/enhancements to those systems through follow up with production, support departments and software development and vendors.
    • Has the responsibility to analyze and coordinate improvements to Glass Yield.
    • Responsible for developing/maintaining process documentation/mapping
    • Work with line supervisors and group leaders to make necessary changes to processes or procedures that will help overall flow and productivity.
    • Work with Software/Programming and Product development to insure that process and product changes are made as efficiently as possible, “correct the first time”.
    • Provide input to Plant Manager as to opportunities for process improvements for production, support departments and within the IT department.
    • Troubleshoot/provide support for floor/office hardware issues
    • Be aware of expectations each day in key areas – safety, quality, productivity, housekeeping, attendance and implementation of SMART processes.
    • Complete assigned tasks as efficiently as possible based on current priority and situation, with the highest priority always being the production lines. Working with the knowledge that being flexible and being able to monitor and complete multiple tasks at the same time is a must.
    • Provide feedback to the   on the status of all assigned tasks, and what might be needed in the way of resources “time/equipment” to continue or complete a task or tasks.
    • Has responsibility for all aspects of safety in their assigned tasks and responsibilities. Report to appropriate personnel any process or equipment that may be a potential safety hazard or ergonomic risk.
    • Meets EHS requirements in accomplishing responsibilities of this position complying with all policies or regulations set forth by Simonton or various government agencies concerning safety, environment, vehicles and any related items.
    • Responsible for maintenance and repairs where possible for all production process printers.
    • Must be able to work any hours as needed.

    • Two years prior experience in a related field.
    • Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
