The Supply Chain Specialist will assist with Supply Chain functions that include negotiating lower level purchases, maintaining records for department programs, and assist higher level Supply Chain associates with the purchase of materials while maintaining appropriate inventory levels for production.
Negotiate and prepare tracking reports for the purchase of new pallets.
Coordinate pallet pickup and recycling program.
Manage LMT and other direct ship Fence & Railing suppliers.
Provide oversight of the consignment program.
Responsible for Capital Project Purchase Orders, ensuring they are in compliance with the accounting/financial procedures and controls.
Release purchase orders for the Siding Groups Micro Ingredient requirements, track shipments, track micro inventory levels which includes the resolving of shortages and quality issues.
Coordinate with plant personnel on requirements to ensure sufficient production levels of material are available while minimizing excess inventory.
Maintain regrind sales program including tracing market prices, negotiate prices and issue monthly reports.
Provide visibility on MRO supplies and prices in accordance to Ply Gem Corp agreements.
Survey, analyze and develop new cost competitive sources.
Identify and develop new vendors for existing materials/services as well as sourcing alternative material services.
Identify new suppliers that are able to provide cost savings for existing material and/or create new product opportunities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Experience in Inventory, Production Control, and purchasing fields strongly preferred.
Basic computer skills required, experience with inventory control systems a plus. Strong oral and written communication skills preferred.
