The Shipping Support Representative is responsible for verifying and communicating order status with status with special emphasis orders shipped via our truck. Work closely with Fleet Supervisor and Dispatcher and Delivery Drivers. Perform essential administrative tasks.
Ensure delivery freight manifests are returned from Delivery Drivers. Cross reference and ensure shipping documents are turned in with the corresponding manifest. Check order number against the list of orders displayed on the manifest. Data entry delivered paperwork and review sheets per manifest and cod’s.
Communicate status of daily backorders to Dispatcher, Sales, Service and Production Control. Working with Sales, provide information regarding backorders and arrange new delivery date(s).
Provide daily up date support for Fleet Supervisor and Dispatcher on driver route status. Communicate with Delivery Drivers routinely.
Write bills-of-lading for common carrier shipments. Dispatches trailer load (TL) and less-than-a trailer load shipments (LTL).
Distribute intra-departmental reports. Maintain DOTC reports both daily and weekly as well as Puller/Loader performance report. Provide status of outstanding orders to the invoicing department. Provide administrative support to Distribution Manager and Fleet Supervisor on limited basis.
Provide delivery status to internal/external customers. Receive and initiate phone calls, faxes, and emails throughout the day. Contribute to dispatch support for Delivery Drivers (breaking down manifests). Provide information and answer queries from Delivery Drivers while on the road.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2year clerical experience, preferably where the nature of work involves interactions with freight-forwarders
