  • Overview

    Assist EHS Manager and/or Plant Manager in providing leadership and management for all facility safety programs.

    Responsibilities

    1. Effectively influence plant safety program and improvement efforts.
    2. Prepare safety alerts and promote safety awareness.
    3. Maintain all location safety records and track incident corrective actions to completion.
    4. Develop and maintain location EHS website.
    5. Assist facility efforts in fatality prevention, determining possible causes of fatalities and serious injuries (as applicable per location).
    6. Assist in incident investigations, including root cause analysis, corrective action development and follow-up for completion of action items.
    7. Participate in Project EHS Reviews.
    8. Manage location inspection and safety program.
    9. Develop and maintain safety programs that are compliant with all applicable requirements.
    10. Participate on safety teams and support plant safety SPAs as needed.
    11. Prepare and develop safety training materials and programs and conduct training.
    12. Maintain facility MSDS program.
    13. Publish Daily Hours Worked report (as applicable).
    14. Compile monthly production data for plant metrics and gainsharing.
    15. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education

    High school graduate/GED required.  Some college or business school coursework preferred.

     

    Experience

    Minimum of one year experience in a manufacturing office environment. Previous safety experience preferred.

     

    Skills/Abilities

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access). Ability to prioritize and multi-task. Strong desire to learn and willing to tackle new challenges. Broad understanding of plant operations and manufacturing processes. Understanding of manufacturing problem solving. Demonstrated competence in the application of safety and environmental policies and regulations. Demonstrated project management skills. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
