  • Overview

    Purpose/goals

    The Inventory Supervisor will manage a variety of inventory control functions, which includes warehouse and distribution operations, planning, and quality assurance. This role will also ensure that supplies and physical inventories match computerized inventory balances.

     

     

     

    Responsibilities

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Supervises inventory and shipping department staff             
    2. Participates in the employment process for inventory/shipping employees by conducting interviews as needed
    3. Communicates any/all inventory shortages to necessary department leads
    4. Maintains consignment inventory discrepancies to find out why they occur
    5. Verifies information when discrepancies occur between vendor and packing slips
    6. Assigns numbers to new inventory items.
    7. Tracks and files defective material reports and returns to vendors
    8. Conducts full physical year-end inventory for verification by auditors
    9. Conducts online month-end inventory
    10. Performs other duties as assigned.

     

     

    Qualifications

    REQUIREMENTS

     

    Education

    High School Diploma or equivalent

     

    Experience

    Two years experience in inventory control management in a manufacturing environment

     

    Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing including JIT preferred

     

    Forklift certified

     

    Skills/Abilities

    Proficiency in Microsoft and Internet Applications is required

    Knowledge of Great Plains and Crystal Reports is desirable

    Ability to communicate with a variety of audiences

    Good problem solving and trouble shooting skills

    Detail oriented

    Demonstrates the ability to work independently and within teams
